CHICAGO (April 16, 2013) – On April 16, I was in Chicago for Grundfos’ groundbreaking ceremony for its new North American headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill. During my visit, I had the opportunity to interview Grundfos executives Soren Sorensen, Grundfos Group Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Grundfos North American Board, and Jes Munk Hansen, President of Grundfos North America. I spoke with them about upgrading the infrastructure, new technologies that can reduce waste and energy consumption, and the state of the pump industry.

Part Four of my five-part interview covers stormwater treatment and the aging infrastructure challenges facing the pump industry. This topic proved especially relevant in the next few days following the interview, as Chicago experienced record flooding. Check out Part One of my interview for more coverage of the Chicago floods.

Watch Part Four below:

In case you missed it, Part Two examines the state of the pump industry, globally and in the U.S., and the plans for future infrastructure upgrades. Part Three covers the current energy efficiency standards in the U.S. and how the pump industry came together to pass pump efficiency legislation in Europe.
