Wayne, Pa. (June 13, 2014)—The Fluid Sealing Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Henri V. Azibert as their new technical director.

As a longtime FSA member while employed by A.W. Chesterton Company, Azibert served as chairman of the mechanical seal division and of the mechanical seal and mechanical packing technical committees and was a member of the strategic planning, government affairs and marketing committees. He also served most recently as a member of the board of directors and held the office of vice president for the last two and a half years.

Pumps & Systems has partnered with the Fluid Sealing Association for 10 years and posted exclusive “Sealing Sense” articles in every issue of the leading magazine for pump users worldwide. Azibert will now coordinate these articles, which provide the readers of Pumps & Systems with crucial technical information about mechanical seals, compression packing, gaskets, expansion joints, sealing components and molded packing.

Azibert has also joined the prestigious Pumps & Systems Editorial Advisory Board.

“The appointment of Henri Azibert to technical director of FSA is a brilliant choice,” said Pumps & Systems Editor Michelle Segrest. “Henri has written several important articles for our magazine and is an experienced and well-respected authority on mechanical seals and packing. His contributions to our Editorial Advisory Board have already been significant. We are proud to continue the great tradition of ‘Sealing Sense’ articles that Pete Petrunich meticulously handled for a decade. With Henri, our readers can be assured this valuable information is in expert hands.”

Azibert received his baccalauréat from Lycée Louis Le Grand, a B.A. in political science from the University of Massachusetts, a J.D. degree from Boston College and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University.

After a varied career, Azibert joined the A.W. Chesterton Company in 1980 as a design engineer in the mechanical seals division. He was responsible for all the mechanical seal and mechanical packing engineering staff and product lines. He was granted more than 30 patents on mechanical seal designs and improvements. Azibert maintains his standing in the Massachusetts Bar. He is a member of the API 682 and 3A Mechanical Seal Standard Task forces and is a member of the Texas A&M Pump Symposium Advisory Board.

Azibert replaces Peter Petrunich, who retired from his position as FSA technical director after being with them for 17 years.
