Challenging chemicals, including polymers and caustic substances, require the right metering pump.

Challenging chemicals are used to meet treatment goals in wastewater operations. Polymers are high-viscosity fluids used for flocculation and coagulation and to aid in removal of solid particles. pH in wastewater must maintain certain levels to meet regulatory demands. pH is often adjusted using chemicals like sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and others, which are caustic. Disinfection is often achieved using sodium-hypochlorite or peracetic acid. These are familiar chemicals to operators but bring challenges. Both chemicals are off-gassing. It’s crucial to find a metering pump that will precisely and gently dose chemical without damage to the pump, chemical or system.
