Operations Challenge & Conditioning Pump
The Vaughan Conditioning Pump is a Vaughan Submersible Chopper Pump mounted on a portable stand and fitted with high-velocity mixing nozzle. The Conditioning Pump recirculates the contents of the wet well, chopping and mixing to produce a homogeneous mixture that is more easily pumped out.
About Vaughan Company
"WHAT COULD MAKE THIS BETTER?"
That was the question Jim Vaughan found himself asking on a regular basis. In the service bay of the gas station he owned in Elma, Washington, he spent hours repairing manure pumps for local dairy farmers. He could see a pattern: the pumps were constantly breaking down due to clogs caused by animal bedding or twine. Existing designs simply could not handle the material that was making its way into the waste stream. Setting his mind to the problem, Jim invented the world's first chopper pump in 1960, and Vaughan Company was born.
His brilliant idea met a genuine need that had applications far beyond dairy farms. By 1961, the company purchased its own manufacturing facility in Montesano, Washington. Three years later, the first patent was issued. In the decades since, Vaughan Company has expanded operations greatly and now has 40 worldwide patents that have been issued or are pending. Today, we're still passionate about that original question: What could make this better? We are driven to find ways to continually increase our product reliability and efficiency in the most severe environments.
To maintain our position as the industry leader, Vaughan Company takes full advantage of cutting edge technology. We incorporate in-house 3-dimensional computer modeling, which allows us to create exacting fits and precision castings for all components. With Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we analyze flow patterns and velocities within our pumps, looking for ways to maximize performance. And our Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) automated machining ensures that every Vaughan replacement part fits precisely and consistently.
With more than half a century of experience, Vaughan Company remains committed to giving our customers outstanding service and the most dependable product solutions in the world.
