HP Nanda began his career in the industry back in 2018 with Dupont Water Solutions, but went on to become the CEO of Grundfos Water Utilities in 2022. What drives Nanda today falls in line with Grundfos’ own purpose: to solve the world’s water and climate challenges while enhancing the quality of life for people.
What is your favorite part of the job?
My favorite aspect of the job is engaging with all the stakeholders in the water ecosystem. This includes interactions with my own employees, customers, value chain partners, suppliers, thought partners and industry colleagues from various corners of the world. Contributing our part to advance our industry is a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Working for a company like Grundfos, with a steadfast commitment to innovation and sustainability, adds even more enjoyment to my role.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging aspect of my job is staying up to date with the global developments in our industry while managing time zones, extensive travel and the demands of the role.
What are some of your long-term career goals?
My long-term career goals are deeply rooted in my belief that we can address water scarcity within my lifetime. Water is fundamental to life itself, yet over 1 billion people out of approximately 8 billion on our blue planet lack access to safe and clean water. My ultimate career ambition is to be relentless in our pursuit of solving this challenge. Working collectively with all types of partners to make clean water accessible to all is the overarching goal.
What is your advice to college students or young professionals new to the industry?
To the next generation of professionals and students entering the industry, I offer this advice: strive to surpass the achievements of our generation, as we all hope for a better world.
