EagleBurgmann announced that, as of January 1,2012, Paul van Wyk, formerly the managing director of the South African subsidiary, took over as new head of the Americas region. Mr. van Wyk joined EagleBurgmann South Africa in 1997 as sales engineer for EPC and project enterprises. Having gained his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering he had first worked as designer and project manager, until he discovered this true calling – sales. His childhood and youth in South Africa taught him the importance of respecting cultures, languages and people, so he is particularly keen to live in America and get to know a completely new environment.

He finds it an exciting prospect to head a regional team with his strategic perspectives and use his sales and business experience to make a direct contribution to the well-being of the region and of the employees there. In his leisure time he is an enthusiastic angler and hunter.

“I spent virtually every weekend with my dogs in the bush or on the beach, where I enjoy trying to catch a big shark.” He has also represented South Africa at the world championships in pistol shooting.
