AURORA, Ill.(April 3, 2013) — U.S. Rep. Bill Foster visited Grundfos’ campus in Aurora, Ill., to tour the Grundfos Water Utility Center, a warehouse and manufacturing facility devoted to the production, service and distribution of sophisticated pump technology for municipal wastewater pumps and pump systems.

Established in March 2012, the Center assembles a fully integrated team of professional experts in the municipal wastewater industry whose specialized skills include engineering, manufacturing, product sales and service, distribution, regulatory issues and equipment testing.

"As a businessman and scientist, I know the value of increasing access to and growing our nation’s manufacturing capabilities," Foster said. "I am glad to see Grundfos recognizes the strong workforce and opportunity for growth we have here in Illinois."

"Grundfos is committed to urban modernization through energy-efficient technology and advanced manufacturing," said Jes Munk Hansen, president and CEO of Grundfos North America. "We applaud Congressman Foster for his leadership on these issues and for his introduction of bipartisan legislation to promote advanced manufacturing. We are proud to welcome him to our state-of-the-art facility in Aurora."

Grundfos’ Aurora campus, which employs about 80 people, was formerly the site of Yeomans Chicago Corporation, a prominent pump manufacturer acquired in 2008. Through the acquisition, Grundfos gained the invaluable regional expertise of a company whose roots go back more than a century in the Chicago area.

According to Mike Franzen, executive director, manufacturing, of Grundfos Chicago, "We have made a substantial investment in our Aurora facility, its process systems, and training. We are preparing to assemble another line of products starting in July which will create additional opportunities for jobs and employee development."

As an emerging and increasingly vital hub for the water industry, the Chicago area represents a major investment priority for the company. The area is at the center of the resurgent manufacturing sector surrounding the Great Lakes and has emerged as global leader in infrastructure modernization and sustainability.
