KIMBERLY, WI (May 31, 2013) – Jim Jack, Reliability Engineer for Georgia-Pacific, received an award for manufacturing excellence from Crane Engineering and manufacturing partner ITT Goulds Pumps, one of the world’s leading providers of industrial pumps.

Lance Crane, CEO and President of Crane Engineering in Kimberly, Wisc., presented the Pulse of Industry award to Jim Jack in a ceremony at the Crane Engineering Tech Expo at the Radisson Paper Valley on April 25. The award recognizes individuals for their exceptional work in pump operations, maintenance or optimization.

“We are pleased to recognize Jim’s expertise in improving pump reliability and efficiency with this prestigious award from one of the world’s leading industrial pump brands,” Crane said.
Jack was selected for the award based on his expertise in proper pump selection and sizing, as well as vibration analysis, pump installation, and alignment procedures.

Crane explained that this award is part of “Pump Appreciation Day,” an international celebration of pumps and those who keep them running. “Without industrial pumps,” he said, “factories can’t make the essential materials that are at the heart of almost everything we do. Mr. Jack is only one example of millions of individuals who work to understand pump technologies for their jobs.”

During the “Pump Appreciation Day” celebration at the Tech Expo, Crane Engineering also made a $1,000 donation to the American Heart Association.
