OLATHE, Kan. (June 14, 2013) – With its U.S. sales operation headquartered in Olathe, Kan., global pump manufacturer Grundfos was named to Ingram’s list of "Top 100 Privately Held Companies in Kansas City."

The Denmark-based company established its presence in the Kansas City area in 2001 and now employs more than 170 people in a number of regional functions: sales, customer support, product technology, marketing, training, and design and engineering. The Olathe facility serves a variety of industries, including domestic and commercial buildings, groundwater, water treatment and industrial.

Grundfos Kansas City contributed 75 percent of the total revenues for Grundfos North America, which reached $500 million in 2012. In the past five years, Grundfos North America has increased revenues by 67 percent, invested $150 million in operations, and more than doubled its workforce.

"We have no intention of slowing our growth," said Dennis Wierzbicki, president of Grundfos USA. "We aim to increase our revenues to $1 billion by 2017."

Wierzbicki said the company was honored to be named to Ingram’s list of Top 100 Private Companies and owed its nomination to the hard work of its employees.

Grundfos Kansas City was also named a Best Company to Work for in Kansas City by Ingram’s Magazine in 2012.

With an annual production of more than 16 million pumps, the company specializes in circulator pumps for heating and air conditioning as well as centrifugal pumps for industrial applications, water supply, sewage and dosing. Grundfos also manufactures standard and submersible motors and state-of-the-art electronics for monitoring and controlling pumps. Since its inception in 1945, the company has flourished from one small factory in Bjerringbro, Denmark to a global corporation comprising more than 80 companies and more than 18,000 employees. In 2012, Grundfos reported net revenues totaling $4 billion.

This year, the company celebrates its 40th anniversary in the United States. In North America, Grundfos employs more than 1,600 people – 1,300 in the U.S. alone – and is continually expanding its regional expertise. Grundfos North America is headquartered in Downers Grove, Ill., and maintains operations, sales and service facilities in Olathe, Kan.; Allentown, Pa.; Fresno, Calif.; Brookshire, Texas; Aurora, Ill.; and Indianapolis. In Canada, Grundfos has a sales facility in Oakville, Ontario, and in Mexico, the company operates a manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosí and sales offices in Monterrey and Mexico City.
