CHENGDU, China (July 3, 2013) – Schlumberger announced the official opening of the Schlumberger Reservoir Laboratory in Chengdu, China. The state-of-the-art, 32,000 sq. ft. facility is the newest addition to the Schlumberger global network of reservoir laboratories. The laboratory offers an integrated suite of petrophysical and geomechanical services to help customers improve hydrocarbon recovery and maximize production throughout the life of their reservoirs.

The laboratory in Chengdu is designed to provide a complete suite of services from field core acquisition to laboratory measurements. Laboratory personnel and petrotechnical experts work in close collaboration with domain experts to deliver a seamless solution from initial data gathering through sample selection, rock testing, model calibration and interpretation.

The Reservoir Laboratory is in close proximity to the Schlumberger operations facilities in Chengdu’s Gaoxin and Shuangliu districts, enabling the efficient transport of cores for analysis and support of the growing oil and gas activity in the province.
