BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 7, 2014) – Pumps & Systems, the leading magazine for pump users worldwide, is proud to announce the “Measure Reliability” webinar, a presentation made in partnership with WIKA Instrument, LP, a global manufacturer of pressure and temperature measurement instrumentation. The live webinar will take place May 22, 2014, at 1 p.m. Eastern. Registration is free at www.pump-zone.com/measure-reliability-2014. In “Measure Reliability,” Jason Deane, a senior instrumentation engineer at WIKA, will discuss how pressure gauges support a plant’s reliability-centered maintenance efforts. Industry estimates suggest that as much as 5 percent of production capacity is lost each year as a result of unplanned shutdowns. Deane will teach pump users the five-step audit process for resetting and sustaining the accuracy of a plant’s mechanical gauge population. The webinar will also feature research about the current state of pressure gauges and the most common reasons for gauge failure, identified by WIKA’s Full Audit Service Team after performing more than 300 instrumentation audits in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pulp & paper and power generation plants. In addition, the webinar will help pump users learn to:

  • Lower expenses
  • Reduce safety risks
  • Address potential problems before failure
The one-hour event will include a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute live question-and-answer segment.
