BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 9, 2014) – Pumps & Systems is proud to announce the expansion of its editorial team as the company continues to grow into new markets, including the Middle East/North Africa region. Pumps & Systems, published by Cahaba Media Group (CMG), is the worldwide voice of the pump and rotating equipment industry. For more than 20 years it has delivered relevant industry news coverage and powerful technical information to more than 40,000 BPA-qualified managers, engineers, operators and maintenance professionals. Cahaba Media Group’s pump brands include Pumps & Systems, Upstream Pumping Solutions and Pumps & Systems MENA, which will be launched October 2014 to serve the pump industry in the Middle East and North Africa region. Alecia Archibald recently joined the editorial team as Senior Editor, Production & Content Marketing. She will develop marketing concepts and programs around editorial products, manage editorial production processes, drive cover creation, spearhead the company’s digital content strategy execution and other various big projects, print and digital, for all of Cahaba Media Group’s brands. She will also help significantly with editing, assigning and content creation for the pumps brands specifically. “Alecia brings a wealth of experience to our team,” says Pumps & Systems Editor Michelle Segrest. “She is a publishing veteran with crucial creative and production skills. She has already made an impact in helping our pump brands continue to deliver the world’s most powerful and relevant technical pump information to our loyal readers.” Archibald worked for The Birmingham News/Alabama Media Group for 22 years. As the Custom Publications Editor she was the creative director for all advertorial and niche publications for The Birmingham News, The Huntsville Times, the Press-Register of Mobile, al.com and AMG’s customers—print and digital—which included 13 weekly projects, 40 annual special publications, monthly advertorial sections in Birmingham magazine and numerous custom-customer projects. Lori Ditoro, veteran managing editor for Pumps & Systems, has been promoted to Senior Editor of Upstream Pumping Solutions. “Lori has been a leader in the editorial department for a long time, and her contributions to the pumps brands are tremendous,” says Segrest. “It is our goal to increase Lori’s role in building the Upstream Pumping Solutions brand. She is already a top influencer in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry and continues to increase her market knowledge every day. Of course, she also continues to have a major impact on the success and growth of Pumps & Systems and will also continue her role as Managing Editor of Pumps & Systems.” Michael Lambert, a two-time former CMG intern, joins the team as associate editor of Pumps & Systems and Upstream Pumping Solutions and will also assume the role of managing editor of Pumps & Systems MENA. Michael is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. “Michael is a talented writer and gifted editor and recently gained crucial print and digital experience on the copy desk at al.com,” says Segrest. “He is also fluent in French, which is the second most spoken language in North Africa. This will be an asset for us on Pumps & Systems MENA.” Savanna Lauderdale, also a two-time former CMG intern who has been working part-time for the pumps team since January, assumed the role of full-time associate editor of Pumps & Systems and Upstream Pumping Solutions on May 12. Lauderdale is a graduate of the University of Alabama. “Savanna and Michael were both star interns for us, so we jumped at the opportunity to bring them on our team full time,” Segrest said. “Savanna has exceptional creative and digital savvy and has been instrumental in repurposing key content for our websites.”
