GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (June 19, 2014) – Des-Case Corporation announced its recent purchase of the visual oil analysis product line of Houston, Texas-based ESCO, an oil sight glass and level monitor manufacturer, Copaltite distributor, and Dow Corning product distributor. Products acquired include ESCO's popular 3-D BullsEye Viewport, as well as its oil sight glasses, indicators, and oil level monitors. ESCO has provided visual oil analysis products for more than 30 years. Since the first oil sight glass was developed by ESCO, additional models including horizontal, high temperature, large volume, and level monitor models have been developed. The newest product, the 3-D BullsEye, was designed as a response to customer requests for a better visual monitor from any angle. "Broadening the Des-Case product portfolio with visual oil analysis products will further position the company as one convenient and dependable partner for companies to improve reliability and extend oil and equipment life," said Brian Gleason, CEO of Des-Case. "Through our global distribution network and OEM partnerships, Des-Case will expand an already trusted product line in the marketplace to broader geographic and industry reaches.” ESCO’s products aid detection of contamination through visual monitoring, complementing Des-Case's breathers and fluid handling products, which protect and clean the oil. The oil sight glass is a clear cylinder that installs in the drain port of the oil reservoir of pumps, gearboxes, bearing housings, and other pieces of equipment. The sight glass provides continuous fluid monitoring of the clarity, color, sediment and water contamination in the oil. Oil sight glasses play a critical role in early detection of contamination and oil level problems and allow for constant monitoring of what’s happening inside equipment. “Sight glasses should be used on virtually every piece of manufacturing and heavy equipment in the world; combining it with a Des-Case desiccant breather and proper filtration provides the ultimate protection," said David Haught, president, ESCO. "Aligning with Des-Case offers a way to take the product line to more customers and industries than we ever could on our own. We saw it as a natural step in the product's—and our company's—growth." ESCO will remain a distributor of Des-Case products and oil sight glasses and will continue to sell Dow Corning products. Des-Case Corporation specializes in contamination control products for industrial lubricants.
