BOSTON (Sept. 2, 2014) – GEI Consultants, Inc., a geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firm, announced that MGP Conference 2015, a gathering of experts on former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites, will be held at the Providence Biltmore Hotel, in Providence, Rhode Island, April 15-17, 2015. As creator and lead organizer of MGP Conference 2015, GEI continues the spirit and traditions of past GEI-organized MGP conferences held in Reading, England (2006), Mystic, Connecticut (2008), and Chicago, Illinois (2012). The Conference provides a forum for MGP site owners, consultants and contractors to share experiences and ideas. MGP Conference 2015 is designed to stimulate knowledge exchange with strong technical presentations and experienced technical panels that will explore the key issues of MGP site management based on lessons learned. The conference schedule will consist of a day of workshops and two-and-a-half days of exhibits, poster presentations and engaging technical sessions. Abstracts are now being accepted for MGP Conference 2015. Authors are encouraged to submit technical abstracts pertaining to new and innovative topics related to current remediation and redevelopment of MGPs. All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Conference Selection Committee and may be submitted as an oral presentation, poster presentation or panel discussion topic. Abstracts are due by Sept. 29.
