GREENWOOD, Ind. (Sept. 11, 2014) – Endress+Hauser and Rockwell Automation hosted a joint Process Solutions Summit event at Endress+Hauser’s new $16 million Customer Center located at its U.S. headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana. The Process Solutions Summit—sponsored by George E. Booth and Company and Kirby Risk—provided customers with the ability to acquire hands-on training through sessions and labs, exchange innovative ideas and learn best practices about complete process automation solutions amongst peers and industry leaders. Participation in the Process Solutions Summit was free for attendees. Training was facilitated inside Endress+Hauser’s new, state-of-the-art Customer Center Process Training Unit (PTU), a fully functional mini process plant with more than 120 Endress+Hauser field instruments controlled by a Rockwell Automation PlantPAx. The Customer Center offers visitors a top-notch certified training facility with multiple classrooms and its largest PTU located right at Endress+Hauser’s U.S. manufacturing headquarters. The Customer Center’s PTU is the first to feature full tank gauging solutions, WiFi network for wireless device access to PTU network, flowmeters with heartbeat technology, separate oil/water column to demonstrate interface measurement, server “phone home” feature for nearly 100 percent up-time availability and more. Todd Lucey, general manager of Endress+Hauser U.S. sales center, believes that one of the keys to market success in the U.S. is owed to heavy investments made in customer training and the strategic alliance formed with Rockwell Automation. “Through investing $16 million into a state-of-the-art customer training center, Endress+Hauser and Rockwell Automation will be able to utilize this space to continuously build on our strong partnership, provide unique customer training opportunities—such as the Process Solutions Summit—but most importantly, deliver complete solutions and added value to our loyal customers,” Lucey said. “Customers are increasingly faced with real-world application issues and they can’t get this type of unique training anywhere else.” Attendees gained valuable insight through multiple exhibiting companies, who brought knowledge and world-class capabilities to the event. Participation in technical forums and hands-on labs delivered real-world experience of applications and earned attendees professional development hours. Live demonstrations on exhibits throughout the facility and networking with peers and content experts increased each attendee’s understanding of how to tackle today’s production and business challenges. Since announcing their strategic alliance in 2004, Endress+Hauser and Rockwell Automation have continued to build on their partnership to better support customers in the process automation industries. The technologies, expertise and experience developed through this alliance enables both companies to deliver progressive solutions to today‘s industry challenges and leadership toward tomorrow’s breakthroughs. “Our alliance continues to expand differentiated value for end-user and OEM customers,” said Som Chakraborti, director, Process Control Business of Rockwell Automation. “Rockwell Automation PlantPAx Process Automation System is a Modern DCS platform with unique advantages for scalable applications across process industries. Further, our collaboration has resulted in toolkits—available to our mutual customers—that greatly enhances engineering, operator and maintenance experiences.” Endress+Hauser is one of the largest instrument manufacturers in the U.S. industrial automation industry.
