ABU DHABI (9 November, 2014)—Honeywell launched its latest solutions for the oil & gas industry at ADIPEC 2014. The company demonstrated its ongoing commitment to the energy industry with a range of technologies that provide solutions for the region’s diverse oil and gas landscape. While oil GDP growth is expected to continue steadily over the coming years in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, specifically in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar, the rate of growth is expected to be slower than the region has been used to in recent years. With an increasing number of challenges, including a growing imbalance in its demand versus supply ratio, the Middle East is expected to become the most energy-intensive nation in the world, according to the BP Annual Energy Outlook, June 2014. This will present new opportunities for those serving the region’s oil and gas sector. “The Gulf and wider Middle East region continue to be a hotbed of activity across the energy sector. In order to support sustained growth and keep up the heightened levels of activity, it is imperative that tools and technologies are developed at an even faster rate,” said Norm Gilsdorf, president, high growth regions for Russia, Central Asia and the Middle East, Honeywell. “ADIPEC has always been an important platform for Honeywell. The show provides excellent opportunities to engage with fellow industry leaders and showcase our expertise and solutions that will ultimately help take the industry forward.” With a strong focus on safety and efficiency, Honeywell launched several products and solutions for the oil & gas industry at ADIPEC this year, including:
- SmartLine® Level Transmitter, an instrument measuring the level in process tanks. The level transmitter is shipped ready to install based on the customer’s specifications. This enhances the entire project life cycle and makes employees more efficient and the plant more reliable and safe. All SmartLine transmitters offer features that reduce risk in project implementation, shorten startup time and reduce overall operational costs.
- ConneXt, the industry’s first plantwide, deployable wireless gas detection system to include multi-gas and radiation-detection instrumentation with biometrics, GPS, and Wi-Fi or Mesh wireless radio signaling. ConneXt Safety Solutions combines 24/7 remote atmospheric monitoring, GPS-based man-down tracking and real-time data delivery to a central location, resulting in improved emergency response, risk reduction, and plant productivity.
- Miller AirCore™ Oil and Gas Harness is part of the new range representing next generation harnesses providing more comfort and safety to workers. The new Miller AirCore™ Oil and Gas Harness is designed to provide the workers on drilling or service rigs with a single harness for every job in the oil fields. It’s built strong for day-to-day wear and tear and to last in a variety of harsh environments.
