NORWALK, Conn. (Nov. 9, 2016) – OMEGA Engineering Inc. has announced the appointment of Joe Vorih as president of the company, a pioneer in the design, manufacture and distribution of process measurement and control products. Vorih's priority will be to transform OMEGA from the best-known direct provider of process sensors into a web-based global partner for complete process measurement and control solutions, including innovative wireless and IIoT-ready offerings. “Industrial customers today have access to an exponentially-increasing range of new sensing and control technologies. With wireless sensing and cloud-based solutions, what was not possible to measure in the past is quickly becoming attractive,” Vorih said. “With our broad offering of sensing and control products, global technical support organization and focus on bringing these directly to customers online, OMEGA is uniquely positioned to be the preferred solutions partner in this exciting market.” A manufacturing and technology industry visionary, Vorih has a proven track record leading businesses to new levels of growth. As president of CLARCOR Engine Mobile Solutions, he transformed the organization with a focused effort to serve the needs of original equipment manufacturers, launched several breakthrough programs, and opened a new manufacturing and sales presence in India. Previously, Vorih served as senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Stanadyne, where he oversaw the successful shift of the company from a traditional equipment supplier to a broad technology solutions partner. He started his career with Danaher Corporation, eventually serving in a variety of leadership roles in Danaher Motion—a diverse industrial automation and motion control business. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. “For over 50 years OMEGA has been a brand recognized for quality, customer service and technical support,” added Vorih. “I’m excited about the possibilities in our future and honored to have the opportunity to lead a company with the reputation of OMEGA into yet another chapter of its growth.” In addition, the global manufacturer and supplier of process measurement and control products will be operating out of brand new world headquarters. The move to the high-tech facility in Norwalk, Connecticut, represents a major transition for the firm, which for five decades had been headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. These exciting twin developments are ushering in a new era for the firm—an era that's deeply rooted in OMEGA's rich, pioneering history. The new corporate office is located in a five-story, 412,000-square-foot building in one of Norwalk's busiest retail and commercial areas. The open floor plan is designed with collaborative workspaces, where employees can take advantage of the latest technological advances. Facilities include a cafeteria, fitness center, picnic areas and shuttle service to nearby train stations. “We're extremely excited about this next step in the evolution of our company, but our guiding principle remains unchanged. We're absolutely committed to provide the very best instrumentation products and customer service,” Vorih said. “This has been the building block of our success over the last five decades, and will remain our top priority in the years to come. Fresh leadership and new facilities will ultimately help us serve our customers better as we expand our product lines and enhance our service systems.”
