DORTMUND, Germany (March 9, 2017)—WILO USA LLC, a subsidiary of WILO SE, has under the terms of an asset deal taken over the operative business of the pump manufacturers Weil Pump Company Inc. and Scot Pump Company and the component manufacturer Karak Machine Corporation. The three companies, which together employ around 140 people, have their headquarters and production facilities in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Terms of the deal were not provided in a statement about the transaction. “The aim of this company acquisition is to increase our regional presence and to accelerate our development of the North American market. This transaction represents an important step forward in the implementation of our intensified globalization strategy,” WILO SE CEO Oliver Hermes said in the statement. Eric Lachambre, member of the Executive Board at WILO SE and responsible for Mature Markets, said: “We shall also be able to increase our application expertise and strengthen our US activities in the market segments of Building Services and Industry.” Weil specializes in the manufacture of waste water pumps. Scot concentrates on the OEM end-suction pump market for the plastics, agricultural and chemical industries. Scot also has a branch office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which manufactures special-purpose marine pumps for the shipbuilding industry. The Karak Machine Corporation has for many years been serving the aforementioned companies as a manufacturer of essential pump components. The acquired production facilities will enable Wilo not only to meet customer requirements in the U.S. market promptly and efficiently, but also offer a broader spectrum of high-quality products “made in USA,” the company said in the statement. “We are very pleased to have succeeded in finalizing this acquisition after a long and intensive period of preparation and look forward very much to our collaboration with the acquired companies and their integration into the Wilo Group,” Mathias Weyers, chief financial officer at WILO SE, said.
