HECO and Siemens are bringing the third year of the Reliability, Process, and Maintenance (RPM) Symposium, a two-day conference on reliable processes that lead to industrial success. The conference is scheduled for September 27 and 28 at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. The RPM Symposium features industry leaders in the topics of process and innovation that assures the maintenance and reliability of industrial electric motors, automation components, and other rotating and fluid processing equipment. HECO, Siemens and their exhibitors will present more than 25 educational workshops that are designed to provide new techniques and processes for improvement. The workshops are targeted to supervisors and managers within the four-state area. We anticipate the return of nearly 300+ manufacturing, light industrial and supply businesses from 12 states. “The RPM Symposium is a unique event for industrial companies,” says HECO vice president of operations, Justin Hatfield. “In our third year, we have increased the number of exhibitors by 30% and have added another series of classroom workshops. We have over 15 regional, national and international companies that are all supporting this event with the same goal to show and educate industrial companies and manufacturers on solutions that can help them keep their plants profitable.” This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Howard W. Penrose, Ph.D., CMRP, who will substantiate the importance of predictability, vibration analysis and maintenance. Dr. Penrose joins the Symposium with more than 33 years of field experience as he discusses the different approaches to What’s In It For Me (WIIFM), which is typically used as a benchmark by maintenance organizations to demonstrate impacts of programs on the corporation. WIIFM approaches include: • energy cost reduction and the resulting green footprint • extension of the asset life-cycle • reduced and maintained levels of production defects or availability • the relationship of safety, reliability and insurance costs • optimization and automation of maintenance programs The Symposium is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about innovative industrial solutions. In 2016, more than 75 different companies had personnel present at the event including fortune 500 companies like Dow Chemical, AK Steel, NiSource, CMS Energy, US Steel and others. This support from these companies led to the second RPM Symposium having nearly 300 attendees. The two-day event takes place at the Air Zoo in Portage, Mich. on September 27, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and September 28, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are included both days of the Symposium. Prior registration is required. Registration is free online until September 1, and then it is $10 to register. www.rpmsymposium.com
