GRAY, La. – On Nov. 1, Danos’ materials management service line supporting Royal Dutch Shell’s (Shell) onshore and offshore production operations in the United States achieved an important safety milestone: 1 million man-hours without an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-recordable incident. “This impressive record is the result of our team’s total commitment to operating safely every day,” said Eric Danos, executive vice president for Danos. “It is great to work with a company like Shell that shares our commitment to keeping our people and the environment safe. This dedication is at the core of our 46-year partnership with Shell and we look forward to celebrating many more successes like this one.” Danos provides materials management services to a number of Shell’s facilities supporting its offshore operations, including terminals in Morgan City and Harvey. The scope of work includes central receiving, management of critical spares, purchase order expediting and warehouse management, performed by material specialists located across four onshore locations and seven offshore platforms. There are currently 47 Danos employees working on these crews for Shell. Danos embraces Shell’s focus on achieving Goal Zero – no harm to people or the environment. Whether it’s the extensive and ongoing safety training every employee receives or stop work authority on even large-scale production operations, Danos and Shell make safety the top priority. In addition to their work with Shell, Danos provides short- and long-term storage, central receiving, surplus management, procurement and other materials management services for customers with operations in Texas, Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. Danos has provided materials management and shorebase logistics services for major oil companies for over 50 years.
