SONOMA, Calif. - Citing a desire to expand its product offerings and increase efficiencies in a business-friendly environment, Price Pump Manufacturing, a centrifugal and Air Operated Diaphragm (AOD) pump manufacturer has announced plans to relocate to Caldwell, Idaho in 2018. Founded in 1932, the privately-held company manufactures, distributes and services centrifugal and AOD pumps for industrial users and original equipment manufacturers, which it sells through a network of distributors in the United States and internationally. In Caldwell, Price Pump will operate in a facility more than 10,000 square feet larger than its current location in Sonoma. The move, which is expected to begin in September and be completed by December, will allow Price Pump room to grow and expand its product offerings while keeping its costs down for customers. “Combining a bigger facility in a business-friendly location will put Price Pump in a position to better meet the product and price demands of our customers,” said Jestin Plowright, vice president Of sales & marketing. During the transition, the company expects to maintain its current 7- to 10-day product delivery times, and has already begun the process of building transitional inventory. “Our senior management, including myself, our vice president of sales and marketing and our vice president of engineering and manufacturing have committed to relocating to Idaho with the company and to make this move as seamless as possible for our customers, vendors and employees,” said Bob Piazza, Price Pump president & CEO. “In addition, all of our employees have been offered an allowance to relocate with the company.” Price Pump currently employs a staff of 35, and about half have expressed strong interest in relocating with the company. Price Pump has offered to pay relocation expenses for all 35 full-time employees. “We are overwhelmed with the positive response from our team to this offer and expect that we will continue operating with many experienced faces in Idaho,” said Piazza. Once Price Pump has final determination of which employees will be relocating to Idaho, the process of hiring to fill open roles will begin. Located in Southwestern Idaho near the Oregon border and considered part of the Boise Metropolitan Area, Caldwell has a population of 50,000.
