HOUSTON – Planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) has promoted Jeremy N. Nakashima, P.E., to lead the firm’s wastewater practice. In this role, he will be responsible for building client relationships and expanding the firm’s wastewater practice around the country, ensuring the design quality of the firm’s wastewater projects, and mentoring the engineers in the group. Nakashima has more than 23 years of experience as a project manager and design engineer. He joined LAN in 2010 and served as a regional manager responsible for overseeing the firm’s infrastructure projects in the Midwest area, prior to this appointment. During his career, he has managed the design and construction of several water and wastewater facilities throughout the country. Some of the recent projects Nakashima has been involved with include designing the new Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Conroe, Texas, aeration improvements at the Knollwood Wastewater Treatment Facility in DuPage County, Illinois, and evaluating improvements to the Edinger Pump Station in Orange County, California. Nakashima holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states. He is a member of the Water Environment Federation, as well as the American Water Works Association, where he serves on the standards committees for ball valves and butterfly valves.
