Kimberly, Wis. – Crane Engineering announced that they finalized the acquisition of Rapids Process Equipment (RPE), a company providing service and repair primarily to the pulp and paper industry in northern Minnesota.

The deal adds a fourth location for Crane Engineering and further supports their expansion into Minnesota. Crane Engineering added a Service Center in Burnsville, Minnesota in September 2020.

“We are excited to build on the success RPE has already attained here in Grand Rapids,” said Lance Crane, president and CEO of Crane Engineering. “They have a reputation for precise and reliable rebuild work. Combining that with Crane Engineering’s 81 years of fluid process expertise, top tier product lines, field service and repair, and access to the latest technology means we can serve Minnesota-based manufacturers and municipalities even better.”

Rob Adair, past owner of Rapids Process Equipment, plans to continue working with Crane Engineering in a sales capacity. “I’m very proud of everything our team has accomplished,” Adair said. “We’re excited to join forces with Crane Engineering and deliver access to more technical experts with a broader range of capabilities for our customers.”

Crane Engineering is retaining all team members at the Grand Rapids location.
