MT. PROSPECT, Ill. – NTN Bearing Corporation of America is proud to share the story of their recent Community Spirit & Engagement Event at Wright-Way Rescue. On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, a group of 21 Chicago-area based NTN employees volunteered to spend the day at the Morton Grove, Ill. based animal rescue.

NTN’s volunteers started the morning out doing various cleaning and landscaping chores, painting crates and loading Wright-Way’s shuttle bus for its weekly trip to the rescue’s Admissions and Medical Services Campus in Murphysboro, Ill. The volunteers took a break to enjoy lunch at the nationally acclaimed Pequod's Pizza. Located just a short walk from Wright-Way in Morton Grove, Pequod’s was recently named the #1 pizza place in the United States by Yelp. After lunch, the volunteers went back to work at Wright-Way, spending the afternoon walking and socializing dogs, bathing and grooming puppies and socializing and enriching cats and kittens for adoption.

“I am proud of this group of employees for participating in our volunteer day at Wright-Way Rescue.” Said Pete Eich, president and CEO of NTN Bearing Corporation of America. “The overarching mission of our NTN Community Spirit & Engagement Program is to have a positive impact on our community, and Wright-Way Rescue is such a deserving organization. Wright-Way fulfills a crucial role in our community, saving the lives of cats and dogs and finding them homes, and we are happy to be part of their support network.”

NTN’s relationship with Wright-Way Rescue began in October 2023, when Wright-Way reached out to the community for help replacing a van that had been totaled in an accident, leaving countless animal lives hanging in the balance. NTN saw Wright-Way’s call for help and was able to donate a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van that had been used for our technical training program. This recent Community Spirit & Engagement Event represents the continuation of NTN’s support for Wright-Way Rescue.

NTN’s new Community Spirit & Engagement Program was launched in January 2023, with the purpose of managing the company in a responsible and ethical manner and making a positive impact on the communities where we operate. The goals of the program include maintaining a community involvement program that contributes time and resources to charitable organizations, encouraging employees to have an active role within the local community, making positive contributions to the community, and building partnerships with other groups and organizations.

Wright-Way Rescue is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) animal rescue organization, focused on rescuing dogs and cats, that are very likely to be euthanized, from overpopulated shelters or abandonment. Many of these animals come from rural and southern areas of the US, so Wright-Way makes regular trips to pick them up and bring them to Illinois, where they operate as a no-kill shelter, nursing the animals to health and finding loving forever homes for over 5,000 animals each year.
