CANBY, Ore. (April 13, 2012)—Pioneer Pump, Inc. has outgrown its manufacturing facility, again. Started on Dec. 7, 1998 with only four employees, it now has 116 employees World Wide, 95 of which are in Canby, Ore. Pioneer Pump, Ltd. In the UK (Bury St. Edmunds) was started in 2002. Another sister company, Pioneer Pump, PTY was started in South Africa in 2010 to build pump packages and provide service to local customers.
Following a business plan that called for expansion into clean energy and mining through multiple channels, Pioneer Pump revenue doubled in 2010 and 2011, resulting in a need for more manufacturing capacity.
To achieve this success with single stage end suction centrifugal pumps, the highly engineered designs require precision machining of tightly toleranced parts. The recent expansion that doubled the factory footprint was necessary to accommodate the eleven CNC (computer numeric control) machining centers needed to keep up with the parts demand. The additional square footage allows Pioneer Pump to increase capacity for assembling both standard product and custom projects. The new 42,000 square foot building also houses additional material handling systems as well as updated warehousing for parts and finished goods inventory.
Even as they continue to grow, Pioneer Pump continues to be a company where people are recognized as a key part of overall success. Shipping high quality, reliable products every week requires the skill and dedication of every person in the factory.
“Our commitment to excellence and the development of the very best products in the marketplace require us to provide our people with the right tools for the job,” said Paul Schlumpberger, Pioneer Pump VP. “The addition of the new building makes room for us to continue growing to serve even more customers around the world.”
