RYE BROOK, N.Y. (July 8, 2015) – Xylem Inc. announced that Kairus Tarapore will join the company as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, effective July 27, 2015. Reporting to Xylem President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Decker, Tarapore will lead the development and execution of the Company’s human resources strategy in support of Xylem’s business goals and strategic priorities. Specifically, Tarapore will oversee the areas of leadership and talent development, talent acquisition, performance management, HR technology strategy and global compensation and rewards, and he will be based at Xylem’s headquarters in Rye Brook, NY. “Creating superior leadership and developing our people at all levels of the organization are strategic priorities for Xylem,” said Decker. “Kairus will help us to achieve these goals as he aligns our human resources strategy with our business priorities. He brings three decades of global leadership and diverse experiences across multiple industries to Xylem, as well as a strong background in Lean Six Sigma. With a proven track record of success, we look forward to Kairus’ contributions.” Tarapore, 53, joins Xylem from Babcock & Wilcox Company, a global provider of energy products and services and a defense contractor, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President, Human Resources, for Ceridian Corporation, a global human resources and payment solutions company. Tarapore previously held various management positions at General Electric, including Senior Vice President, Global Quality for GE Fleet Services, and Vice President, Human Resources, for GE Auto Financial Services. He also served in the human resources and marketing departments of RPG Enterprises and Wipro Corporation in India. Tarapore earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting/business from Sydenham College at the University of Bombay in India, and a Master’s degree in personnel management and industrial relations from the XLRI School of Business and Human Resources in Jamshedpur, India.
