Val-Matic Announces New President & CEO

(April 18, 2016) -- Val-Matic Valve & Manufacturing Corp. announced that John V. Ballun, executive vice president and chief operating officer will succeed Ted J. Makowan as president and CEO. Ballun joined Val-Matic in 1995 as vice president of engineering and previously worked in various engineering management roles at other valve manufacturing companies. Over the course of his career, he has published numerous articles on valve technology and contributed to several standard development organizations including the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Manufacturing Standardization Society (MSS).

Ballun earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. He brings a wealth of industry experience to the position. Patricia Nuter will continue to serve as the chairman of the board, executive chairman and treasurer of Val-Matic. “I am very proud of the team we have assembled and feel this team under the direction of Pat Nuter and John Ballun, will continue our growth and the pursuit for perfection in everything we do," Board Member Makowan said. Val-Matic Valve and Manufacturing Corporation’s headquarters is located in Elmhurst, Illinois, with additional manufacturing facilities in Addison, Illinois, for a total of more than 177,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space.
