ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (May 11, 2016) -- The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) has announced a partnership with the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) to provide an expanded selection of peer-reviewed technical and specialized courses for their members through the EduMine online training platform. Through its professional development programs, SME gives its members opportunities to contribute to the success and future of the industry in which they work. “SME looks forward to partnering with CIM and EduMine to provide members with high-quality online learning,” said SME Executive Director David L. Kanagy. “This unique partnership will allow the latest and most important mining concepts to be taught in the broadest form for all those wishing to advance their knowledge.” As the leading international resource for technical information about mining and related industries, SME offers indispensable science and technology from, and for, the professionals who discover, develop and deliver the world’s mineral resources. EduMine’s areas of study include exploration and geology, rock mechanics and hydrology, health and safety, mining and mineral processing, environment and the community, and includes management certificate programs. Live webcasts will be available in five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Mongolian. This collaborative effort between SME and CIM to provide advanced educational resources for their members will be launched late summer of 2016.
