ST. LOUIS – To accommodate global customer demand for its industrial electric motors, Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC) recently expanded its Monterrey, Mexico manufacturing facility. The $2.3 million investment expanded the facility by 60,000 square feet, increased its production capacity and improved operations.
The facility is part of NMC’s Commercial Industrial Motors & Drives (CIMD) business.
The expansion increases the facility’s operational capacity during a time of demand for NMC’s industrial motors. It also supports the growth of NMC’s World Motor® product line that offers severe duty performance in both IEC and NEMA standards.
“This project will support our plans for additional growth during this fiscal year and for several future years,” said Alberto Ocampo, NMC Vice President Monterrey Operations. “As we increase our production and continue to improve efficiencies, we are better positioned to meet our growing global customer demands.”
NMC employs more than 22,000 people worldwide, and has 10 manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, UK and China.
