COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Due to the ongoing global public health concerns related to COVID-19, the third biennial Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Symposium (ATPS) will be postponed to February 2021.
The technical sessions and exhibition will be held Tuesday-Thursday, February 23-25, and short courses will be held on Monday, February 22 in the original venue, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
Leadership of the TEES Turbomachinery Laboratory—host of ATPS—with support of ATPS platinum sponsor PETRONAS, gold sponsor Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., and major supporter the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, determined that shifting the event dates is the best action in order to comply with CDC and government regulations regarding COVID-19.
“The health and safety of our delegates and exhibitors always comes first,” said Eric Petersen, director of the Turbo Lab. “We determined that a further postponement until 2021 was the best course of action, and we fully expect that ATPS 2021 will be a milestone event. Given the great Turbo Lab staff, advisory committee members, and supporting industry participants, I have no doubt that ATPS 2021 will be as successful as originally planned.”
Updates and answers to questions stemming from the reschedule are answered on the ATPS website at atps.tamu.edu/event-updates/.
