ERLANGEN, Germany (Jan. 13, 2014) – Siemens has received an order for the turnkey construction of the Bandirma II combined-cycle (gas and steam) power plant (CCPP) in Turkey. The purchaser is Enerjisa, a joint venture of Sabanci Holding and E.ON. Following the Samsun project, which is currently under construction, Bandirma II will be the second power plant in Turkey to be powered by an SGT5-8000H gas turbine, marking the sale of 28 of this model of gas turbine by Siemens worldwide.
MERSEYSIDE, UK (Jan. 10, 2014) – Hydraulics technology firm Yuken Europe has expanded its operations by making a significant investment in a U.K. valve testing facilities.
The on-site lab, at its base in Speke, Liverpool, specializes in the test and repair of servo and proportional valves, as well as other components including hydraulic pumps and actuators.
STOCKHOLM (Jan. 9, 2014) – Atlas Copco has acquired Edwards Group Ltd. Following the acquisition Edwards will be delisted from the NASDAQ stock exchange.
Atlas Copco has initially paid Edwards shareholders USD 9.25 per share. Once Edwards’s audited 2013 income statement is final, an additional payment of up to USD 1.25 per share will be made, corresponding to a maximum total of USD 10.50 per share.
BRADENTON, Fla. (Jan. 9, 2014) – IRISS announced the acquisition of New Jersey-based Delta T Engineering, a 25 year-old privately held company. Delta T Engineering predominately develops a wireless monitoring system designed to detect temperature increases and prevent electrical equipment failures within electrical enclosures caused by poor connections and overloaded circuits.
NEWNAN, Ga. (Jan. 9, 2014) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that its subsidiary Yokogawa Europe Solutions B.V. has been awarded a contract by Yamgaz, a consortium of Technip and JGC Corporation, to supply integrated control and safety systems (ICSS) for the Yamal LNG Project to build a liquefied natural gas plant and other facilities at Sabetta on Russia’s Yamal Peninsula, which is in northwest Siberia, above the Arctic Circle, in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
