GE Water & Process Technologies’ Jon Freedman was recently appointed to serve on the board of directors for the WateReuse Association, an international organization headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and recognized as a thought leader on alternative water supply development.
Freedman has extensive experience in government affairs and water policy. His appointment to the board took effect in July, and he will serve for a two-year term.

HEIDENHEIM, Germany (Aug. 16, 2017) – Voith won a contract to modernize part of Ffestiniog Power Station, part of the 2 GW “First Hydro” pumped storage operation located in Snowdonia, North Wales. The order covers manufacture, installation and commissioning of two units, with an option for the refurbishment of two more units at a later date. The contract has a value of around 40 million Euros. The operator is ENGIE, an energy and service group in the UK.
Saint-Gobain Seals’ team members collaborated with Boston University students Megan Fantom, Sophia Perriseau, Shannon Sulmasy and Katherine Taube to improve the machining process for Meldin split piston rings. The project is one of Saint-Gobain Seals’ initiatives to retain and develop women within the organization in order to engage and support the next generation of female engineers.
