JAZAN, Saudi Arabia (April 8, 2014) – Siemens will supply the key components for a major combined-cycle power plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The power station is designed to deliver electricity to the Jazan Industrial city area in the southwest of the country and to the refinery of Jazan, which will additionally be supplied with process steam. The plant will be fueled with gasified refinery residues, which contributes greatly to the preservation of the country’s energy resources.

ERLANGEN, Germany (April 7, 2014) – The Andong combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in South Korea was erected in a record time of only 24 months. This liquefied natural gas (LNG) fired plant has an electrical capacity of 417 megawatts, making it the second Siemens operating H-class-based combined-cycle power plant in Asia with an efficiency level of more than 60 percent. The owner and operator is Korea Southern Power Co. Ltd. (KOSPO), a power supply utility.
