As construction booms in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), district cooling has been one area of increased scrutiny and investment. The heightened construction activity is challenged only by the region's punishing sub-tropical desert climate, which this summer experienced a record heat wave. The GCC is home to the world's largest district cooling chilled water plant, and the upcoming Expo 2020 and associated construction activity will lead to an increase of refrigerated tonnage. In order to accommodate both climate changes and increased construction demand, pumps will be an integral part to delivering reliable, quality chilled water services throughout the entire district cooling system.
