ERLANGEN, Germany (Nov. 12, 2013) – Siemens Energy has received orders for a total of 20 SGT-800 industrial gas turbines from Thailand. The turbines will be used in various combined cycle cogeneration power plants within Thailand. The contract is part of the Thai government’s program to support small power producers. The end customers are the Thai independent power producers Amata B.Grimm Power Limited (ABP), which ordered 10 turbines, SSUT Co. Ltd. & PPTC Co. Ltd.
TREVOSE, Pa. (Nov. 8, 2013) – GE’s high-performance LEAPmbr membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater-treatment technology will be the centerpiece of an upgrade to Unitywater’s Maleny sewage treatment plant in Queensland, Australia, and is expected to allow the plant to double the amount of water treated per day to one million liters.

ERLANGEN, Germany (Nov. 5, 2013) – Siemens Energy will build a turnkey combined heat and power plant in Poland. The investor is the Polish energy utility PGE GiEK S.A. The Gorzów plant will have an electric capacity of 138 megawatts (MW) and a thermal capacity of 90 MW. Thanks to combined heat and power, the plant’s fuel efficiency rating will be 84 percent. Commissioning is planned for early 2016.
HELSINKI (Nov. 4, 2013) – Grupa Lotos S.A. chose Metso's Device Management Solution to optimize its valve spare parts stocking and supply. As part of the contract, Metso will also provide its On-site Supervising Service at the Gdańsk refinery so as to ensure that daily maintenance and turnaround activities always meet the high standards set by Grupa Lotos. The contract value has not been disclosed.
HELSINKI (Nov. 4, 2013) – GS Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (GS E&C), has chosen Metso to supply automation for the Dangjin 4 Biomass Power Plant, currently under construction in Dangjin City, about 70 km southwest of Seoul in South Korea. Once completed in 2015, the 105 MW plant will be the largest of its kind in Asia.

NUREMBERG, Germany (Oct. 18, 2013) – The cement producer Thai TPI Polene Public Company Limited has placed an order with Siemens for engineering and supply of the power distribution system and drives for the new clinker production line in Saraburi, Thailand. Siemens will be supplying the drive solutions as well as the switchgear for the high, medium and low-voltage distribution systems and is also responsible for project management and engineering.
NEWNAN, Ga. (Oct. 14, 2013) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that its subsidiary, P.T. Yokogawa Indonesia, has received an order from PT. PLN, a government-owned utility in Indonesia, to supply the control system for a project that will renovate the first of four 20 megawatt (MW) power generation units at the Lahendong geothermal power plant, which is located in the Lahendong district on Sulawesi Island.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (Oct. 29, 2013) – GE Energy Storage announced that it will participate in a load-shifting project at Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, Calif., a non-profit education organization. The 500-kilowatt-hour GE storage and Princeton Power Systems (PPS) inverter control system is engineered to shift 10 to 20 percent of the science center’s daily electrical load from peak hours to less expensive off-peak time periods.
NEWNAN, Ga. (Oct. 9, 2013) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that Yokogawa Electric International, a subsidiary that oversees Yokogawa’s IA and control business outside Japan, has received an order from Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation (SIPSC)*1 to supply the monitoring system for a large water distribution pipeline that the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC)*2 is building in Saudi Arabia between the cities of Yanbu and Medina.

HELSINKI (Jan. 22, 2013) – Metso will supply a biomass-fired heating plant for district heat production to Savon Voima Oyj in Leppävirta in Finland. Following the investment, the municipality of Leppävirta will have access to more district heat generated using renewable fuels, in accordance with Savon Voima's bioenergy program. The new heating plant will significantly reduce the consumption of oil. The plant will go on stream in late 2013.
PARIS (Jan. 14, 2013)—GE’s Power Conversion business announced that it has won a contact of more than $10 million to supply eight pump drive trains, as well as process automation for the largest wastewater treatment plant in the world. It will be located just outside of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and will provide water for local agricultural needs.
NUREMBERG, Germany (Jan. 11, 2013) – The Siemens Drive Technologies Division has received an order from ThyssenKrupp Robins (Greenwood Village, Colo.) to supply the gearless drive system for the overland conveyor system in the Las Bambas copper mine in Peru. The owner of the mine is Xstrata Copper (Brisbane, Australia). Las Bambas will be the second Xstrata Copper mine in Peru to use gearless drives from Siemens on its overland conveyors.

The automated valves of Metso have been selected for several mid-size projects where customers are rebuilding their processes in order to improve and maximize process performance, efficiency and safety.
HELSINKI (Jan. 9, 2013) – Wärtsilä has signed two important long-term service agreements covering Amman Asia Electric Power’s power plant in Al Manakher, Jordan. The agreements comprise a 15-year Parts Supply Agreement, as well as a 5-year Technical Service Agreement with KEPCO Plant Service & Engineering Co., Ltd, the operations and maintenance contractor for the power plant. The contract was signed in October 2012.
