DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Caterpillar Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire the Oil & Gas Division ("Weir Oil & Gas") of the Weir Group PLC, a Scotland-based global engineering business. Headquartered near Fort Worth, Texas, Weir Oil & Gas produces a full line of pumps, flow iron, consumable parts, wellhead and pressure control products that are serviced via an extensive global network of service centers located near customer operations.

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN - Weir Oil & Gas announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), a non-profit public higher education institution founded in 1920. The agreement will result in the company sharing their oil and gas expertise with ASOUI via workshops, seminars, joint projects and internship programs focusing on the technologies and products utilized in oil field equipment, as well as rotating machinery.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Weir Oil & Gas Dubai announced today it has signed multi-year contracts in Iraq with two international oil companies totaling more than $50 million.
The contracts secure the provision of Weir Oil & Gas workshop services and engineering support for an oil field and valve repair and maintenance services for another giant oil field, respectively.
Weir Oil & Gas will acquire KOP Surface Products for an estimated $114 million, the company announced this week.
Singapore-based KOP Surface Products designs and manufactures wellheads, surface trees, valves, actuators and aftermarkets services. KOP employs 450 people in eight countries.
According a Weir release, KOP's management ream will remain on board after the acquisition, reporting into Weir's Oil & Gas Division.
HOUSTON (May 6, 2014) – Weir Oil & Gas and the Rolls-Royce Power Systems company MTU announced they have signed an agreement to develop power systems specifically engineered for hydraulic fracturing. Weir manufactures hydraulic fracturing pumps, and MTU provides heavy-duty industrial diesel engines.
