The new facility is located on the Bhagirathi River in the state of Uttarakhand.
PARIS (May 2, 2013) – GE’s Power Conversion business has signed a multi-million dollar contract with shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) of Ulsan, South Korea. GE will supply electric power, propulsion systems and drilling drives for a new semi-submersible drilling platform HHI is building for Seadrill Ltd., which is expected to work in either the North Sea or offshore Canada.
ERLANGEN, Germany (May 3, 2013) – Siemens Energy has been awarded an order for three of its model SGT-500 gas turbines, marking the first deliveries of such units to Nigeria. Customer is Edo Cement, a company belonging to the Nigerian BUA Group. These industrial turbines will be deployed for electric power generation for the Okpella Cement Factory in Okpella, a city located in the Nigerian state of Edo, providing the added benefit of low emissions.
BADEN, Switzerland (May 7, 2013) – ABB’s Turbocharging business unit received an order to upgrade a series of power plants within the context of its business collaboration with Wärtsilä. The order is the first of three, which together will amount to substantial annual fuel savings for the power plants being upgraded.
ZURICH (May 15, 2013) – ABB signed a long-term Preventive Service™ agreement with China LNG Shipping International Co. Ltd (CLSICO) to provide maintenance services to all ABB equipment onboard of its six LNG vessels in the next five years. The contract commenced January 1, 2013.
