WASHINGTON (April 17, 2013) – Nearly 200 water utility leaders from across the United States ascended the steps of Capitol Hill today, urging their members of Congress to vote for legislation that addresses the nation’s water infrastructure challenge and confronts mounting affordability concerns.

ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands (April 3, 2013) – LyondellBasell announced that Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (JSPCL) has selected LyondellBasell’s Lupotech T and Lupotech A process technologies for a new plant scheduled to be built in Lianyungang, China. JSPCL, part of the Jiangsu Shenghong Group; a top 500 Chinese Enterprise, said that the plant will have a total plant capacity of 300 KT per year for the production of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA).

HOUSTON (April 10, 2013) – Wood Group GTS was awarded a $11.2 million contract to re-rate one of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (LADWP’s) Hitachi hydro turbine generators at the Castaic Power Plant, a pumped storage facility 50 miles north of Los Angeles. This contract will complete the upgrade of the sixth and final turbine generator, undertaken as part of the Castaic Power Plant modernization program.
 

TREVOSE, Pa. (April 11, 2013) – GE announced the commissioning of its high-performance LEAPmbr* membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology at a wastewater treatment plant owned by the Spanish poultry processing firm, Procavi S.L. GE’s LEAPmbr technology will help Procavi improve water quality and double its water treatment capacity without expanding the existing facility. This is the first industrial LEAPmbr installation in Spain.

NEWNAN, Ga. (April 12, 2013) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation and KBR announced the signing of a technology alliance for a fertilizer automation package (FAP) that will form part of the ammonia process technology solutions that KBR offers to its customers worldwide. Under the terms of this alliance, KBR will incorporate Yokogawa’s high value-added process control solutions in the FAP.
