The conference aims to help European pump manufacturers implement correctly the Ecodesign regulations for water pumps and circulators. The conference will bring together various stakeholders (European Commission, pump manufacturers, CEN Working Group Chairpersons) to discuss openly the implementation of the Ecodesign regulations for water pumps and circulators.
CHICAGO (Jan. 22, 2013) – McIlvaine Company has revised its forecast for growth in the industrial valve industry over the next five years. The current forecast is for 5 percent growth. This is being revised to 5.5 percent CAGR for the 2013 to 2017 period. The basis is the increased anticipated revenues from the sales of smart valves. HELSINKI (Jan. 22, 2013) – Metso will supply a biomass-fired heating plant for district heat production to Savon Voima Oyj in Leppävirta in Finland. Following the investment, the municipality of Leppävirta will have access to more district heat generated using renewable fuels, in accordance with Savon Voima's bioenergy program. The new heating plant will significantly reduce the consumption of oil. The plant will go on stream in late 2013.
MANHEIM, Germany (Jan. 22, 2013) – Engineering and services group Bilfinger has signed an agreement to acquire filtration specialists Johnson Screens. Combining these activities with activities that already exist in the group leads to the creation of a global supplier of components and services in nearly all areas of water and wastewater technology. Johnson Screens was founded in 1904 in Minnesota.

BALTIMORE (Jan. 21, 2013) – Danfoss has acquired full ownership of the joint venture company Danfoss Turbocor, in which Danfoss has had a 50 percent owner’s share since 2004. The company develops, produces and markets high-efficiency variable speed compressors in the capacity range of 75-200 ton per unit which are primarily used in very large commercial air-conditioning applications.
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Jan. 18, 2013) – The Hydraulic Institute (HI) has published ANSI/HI 9.6.1–2012 Rotodynamic Pumps Guideline for NPSH Margin. The new guideline serves as a replacement for the 1998 edition, which was later withdrawn completely in 2003.
