ZURICH (March 17, 2014) – ABB has won an order from Spanish ferry operator Baleària to supply energy management systems for one of its largest vessels. ABB’s advisory software will be installed onboard the ferry Martin i Soler, with an option to extend the project to two further vessels in the Baleària fleet.
NEWNAN, Ga. (March 14, 2014) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation’s subsidiary, Yokogawa India Ltd., has received an order from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to supply a SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system for its Centralized SCADA Monitoring Center, which will monitor the city’s water distribution network and wastewater facilities.

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2014) – Siemens and Open Joint Stock Company Fortum have signed a long-term service contract for the Nyaganskaya GRES combined-cycle power plant in Nyagan, Russia. Nyaganskaya GRES is the world’s largest thermal power plant operating above the latitude of 62 degrees north and is the largest thermal power plant greenfield construction project in northern Russia. The power station consists of three combined-cycle power units totaling 1,254 megawatts (MW).

ERLANGEN, Germany (Jan. 13, 2014) – Siemens has received an order for the turnkey construction of the Bandirma II combined-cycle (gas and steam) power plant (CCPP) in Turkey. The purchaser is Enerjisa, a joint venture of Sabanci Holding and E.ON. Following the Samsun project, which is currently under construction, Bandirma II will be the second power plant in Turkey to be powered by an SGT5-8000H gas turbine, marking the sale of 28 of this model of gas turbine by Siemens worldwide.
NEWNAN, Ga. (Jan. 9, 2014) – Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that its subsidiary Yokogawa Europe Solutions B.V. has been awarded a contract by Yamgaz, a consortium of Technip and JGC Corporation, to supply integrated control and safety systems (ICSS) for the Yamal LNG Project to build a liquefied natural gas plant and other facilities at Sabetta on Russia’s Yamal Peninsula, which is in northwest Siberia, above the Arctic Circle, in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

ERLANGEN, Germany (Dec. 17, 2013) – Siemens Energy has been awarded the contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of the San Gabriel combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 414 megawatts (MW). The customer is First NatGas Power Corp., a 100 percent owned company of the Philippine independent power producer First Gen Corporation. Siemens will build San Gabriel as a turnkey facility and then operate it.
HAMBURG, Germany (Dec. 16, 2013) – Siemens received an order from the U.S. energy company MidAmerican Energy for the supply of 448 wind turbines. With a total capacity of 1,050 megawatts (MW), this represents not only the largest order for onshore wind turbines for Siemens, but also the largest single order for onshore wind power awarded globally to date.

ERLANGEN, Germany (Dec. 11, 2013) – The Lünen hard-coal-fired power plant owned by Trianel Kohlkraftwerk Lünen GmbH und Co. KG has been on line in continuous operation since December 2013. The plant was built as a turnkey unit under a consortium arrangement between Siemens and IHI Corporation. It has an installed electrical capacity of 750 megawatts. With 7,000 full-load operating hours predicted for 2014 the Lünen plant can provide electricity for around 1.5 million households.
