The Weir Group today announces changes to its Group Executive including two new appointments that strengthen Weir’s focus on sustainability and technology.

Paula Cousins will become Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer. Garry Fingland will also join the Group Executive as Chief Information Officer with responsibility for Group-wide information and technology systems including the Group’s digital products.

Weir Flow Control has changed its name to Trillium Flow Technologies. This change follows the completion of the sale of The Weir Group’s Flow Control division to First Reserve.

First announced last year, The Weir Group sold the Flow Control division to First Reserve, a global private equity investment firm focused exclusively on energy, for an enterprise value of £275 million, according to the February 2019 press release.

Weir Oil & Gas will acquire KOP Surface Products for an estimated $114 million, the company announced this week.

Singapore-based KOP Surface Products designs and manufactures wellheads, surface trees, valves, actuators and aftermarkets services. KOP employs 450 people in eight countries.

According a Weir release, KOP's management ream will remain on board after the acquisition, reporting into Weir's Oil & Gas Division.

GLASGOW, Scotland (Feb. 22, 2017)—The Weir Group PLC has appointed Geetha Dabir to its Group Executive in the new position of chief technology officer.

An electrical and software engineer, Dabir has held a number of leadership roles with Intel Corporation and Cisco Systems Inc., according to a statement from Weir Group. The company said she brings a wealth of electrical and digital experience that will support Weir's technology strategy.

HELSINKI, Finland (June 23, 2016) — Wärtsilä, a global leader in complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, announced that it has acquired the U.S.- and Canada-based company Weir American Hydro from the Weir Group plc. Ownership of the company will be transferred to Wärtsilä effective June 30, 2016.


MADISON, Wis. (July 9, 2015) – The Weir Group PLC has agreed to acquire Delta Industrial Valves Inc., a U.S.-based manufacturer of knife gate valves for the mining, oil sands and other industrial markets, for an enterprise value of up to US$47 million. Based in Niles, Michigan, Delta employs approximately 70 people and generated EBITDA of approximately US$6.2 million over the last twelve months.

GLASGOW, Scotland (Feb. 20, 2013) – The Weir Group PLC has extended its presence and capabilities in global mining and oil sands markets with the acquisition of a leading Canadian based manufacturer of wear resistant linings. In addition, Weir’s cost supply chain strategy has been advanced with the acquisition of a Malaysian foundry and agreement to acquire a heavy bay foundry in South Africa.
