KYOTO, Japan (Dec. 10, 2014) – Nidec Corporation has announced the creation of the Nagamori Awards in an effort to recognize young inventors for creative, innovative problem-solving solutions. The company announced that the Nagamori Awards are open to entry-level and middle-level research and development engineers from universities, public organizations or private companies. Those engineers who demonstrate documented research and development of motors, actuators, power generators and associated technologies are eligible for consideration. Applicants must be entry- to middle-level research and development engineers who are members of a university faculty, public organization or private company located anywhere in the world. An applicant must be recommended for the award by their academic circle or their company supervisor. All the applications must be received by Jan. 31, 2015. The Nagamori Award, which is a monetary reward, will be granted to three to five people annually. The Grand Nagamori Award recipient will be announced at the commendation ceremony scheduled for Aug. 30, 2015, in Kyoto, Japan.
