The Mid-Atlantic Pump & Process Equipment Symposium X: Geiger Event Draws Hundreds for Hands-on Training
The Mid-Atlantic Pump & Process Equipment Symposium X was held Sept. 18, in Aston, Pennsylvania. Nearly 300 individuals representing 110 organizations that are customers of Geiger Pump and Equipment attended the single-day symposium, which provided seminars and hands-on training.
The Pumps & Systems team was on-site to speak with readers and participate in various courses, including The Installation and Maintenance of Mechanical Seals and Centrifugal Pump Assembly and Repair.
ERLANGEN, Germany (Oct. 17, 2014) – After successful completion of several months of testing and trial runs, three Siemens gas turbines were recently handed over to Dow Stade at Dow's new cogeneration power plant. The cogeneration plant is part of the energy concept for the Dow chemical site located in Stade, Germany, along the Elbe River and contributes to secure power supply for the entire site. The installed capacity of the plant is 163 megawatts (MW).
SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland (Oct. 17, 2014) – Xylem Inc. has won a contract to supply Flygt propeller pumps to two pumping stations in key areas of metropolitan Manila. Benefiting more than half a million people, Xylem’s Flygt technology will increase the flow capacity of the stations by 25 percent, helping to protect residential areas from severe monsoon flooding and improve environmental and sanitary conditions in the city.
