ZURICH (Jan. 21, 2014) – ABB, a power and automation technology group, has signed a cooperation agreement with NAPA, a software house supplying solutions for ship design and operation.

ABB and NAPA will cooperate to offer the NAPA Loading Computer and the electronic NAPA Logbook. The products will be offered under ABB’s Vessel Information and Control (VICO) portfolio, as part of a complete advisory solution devised to optimize ship efficiency.

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2014) – Siemens and Open Joint Stock Company Fortum have signed a long-term service contract for the Nyaganskaya GRES combined-cycle power plant in Nyagan, Russia. Nyaganskaya GRES is the world’s largest thermal power plant operating above the latitude of 62 degrees north and is the largest thermal power plant greenfield construction project in northern Russia. The power station consists of three combined-cycle power units totaling 1,254 megawatts (MW).

EAST AURORA, N.Y. (Jan. 21, 2014) – Astronics Corporation announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets and liabilities of EADS North America's Test and Services division (EADS T&S) for approximately $53 million in cash plus a net working capital adjustment. The agreement is expected to close in February, subject to normal closing requirements including Hart-Scott-Rodino approval.
