BRISBANE, Australia (Dec. 31, 2014) – GE Oil & Gas has contributed to the global liquefied natural gas industry with its systems used in the first ever large-scale production of liquified natural gas (LNG) from coal seam gas (CSG) at BG Group’s Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) plant on Curtis Island.
GE technology of gas turbines, centrifugal compressors and generators are integral parts of the QCLNG facility that has begun producing LNG for its first export shipment.
VANCOUVER, Canada (Dec. 3, 2014) – GE Oil & Gas announced that LNG Canada Development Inc. has selected GE’s LMS100-PB dry low emission (DLE) aeroderivative gas turbine as well as vertically and horizontally split centrifugal compressor technologies for its proposed gas liquefaction plant for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Kitimat, British Columbia.
(18 November 2014)—Drydocks World (DDW) in Dubai has contracted Wärtsilä to design and supply the propulsion and other equipment for a new harbor tug that will operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG). This will be the first harbor tug in the Middle East region to operate on gas. The order was signed in November.
LONDON (Oct. 31, 2014) – Rolls-Royce announces that BG Group has selected the Trent 60 DLE industrial gas turbine as the driver for the main refrigeration compressors in the proposed Lake Charles LNG Export project in Louisiana.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia and CALGARY, Aleberta (Aug. 14, 2014) –Wellgreen Platinum Ltd. announced an agreement with Ferus Natural Gas Fuels Inc. that advances the natural gas market in Canada’s Yukon Territory. This new partnership supports the delivery of clean liquefied natural gas (LNG) to power Wellgreen’s PGM-Nickel-Copper mining project. The site is located in the southwest region of the Yukon, and could be the first mining project in Canada powered by LNG.
